Homeschool Term Art Classes
THE ART HIVE HOME SCHOOL TERM SESSIONS
Term 4 : It takes a Village.
A Creative Art Journey of Self-Expression Through Art
Our Term Four weekly art sessions are designed for home-schooling students of all ages, offering a supportive and engaging environment to build creativity, confidence, and self-expression through art.
We will start our fourth term sessions with the theme of It takes a Village - providing a rich and flexible format , allowing students to explore ideas inspired by community, places, architecture, family, self, movement, colour, texture, mood, and storytelling.
Themes will loosely guide the projects throughout the term to keep the body of work cohesive, but will change each term with suggestions and input welcome from students.
All students use an A5 visual diary as both a sketchbook and creative journal. This diary supports idea development, experimentation, reflection, and skill-building, encouraging freedom from perfection and the fostering of creative confidence.
For younger children ages 6–11, sessions focus on hands-on exploration of drawing, painting, texture, and colour, learning how to start and complete artworks, and understanding that mistakes are a valuable and natural part of the creative process.
For ages older children 12–17, sessions emphasise deeper self-expression and personal exploration, encouraging students to follow their interests within the theme, work through creative blocks, and develop an emerging individual artistic style and voice.
By Week 4, students begin planning and creating a final artwork, which they complete by the end of the term. Finished works may be included in our end of term exhibition, celebrating each student’s individual journey and growth throughout the year.
Options are Mondays 10-11.30 am or 12.30-2pm or Thursdays 12 - 1.30pm with other days possibly being added with a minimum of 6 students
Hive family savings are available when booking multiple term classes or enrolling more than one member of your household. Please contact us before booking to receive your personalised discount code.
